I’m Philipp and this is my blog which I started as part of a UCL course on Technology Governance. Going forward, the plan is to write and reflect regularly on the things that interest me and that I am involved in.
Currently, I am a MEng student at UCL. Although my subject is Computer Science, I have been involved in biotechnology (in the form of synthetic biology and DIYbio) for a number of years. For example, I have been involved as an organizer and participants of many iGEM teams at UCL, founded SynBioSoc and organized YSB 1.0. My MEng project is a bridge between Computer Science, Software Engineering and Synthetic Biology, by exploring Aspect Oriented Programming as a paradigm for high level synthetic biology languages as part of the Computational Systems and Synthetic Biology Group.
